My French Culinary School at Chateau Larogce – an international school of food and wine - is the brainchild of Edward Holmes, the owner of the château and his lovely wife Anna. Edward is passionate about food and wine and has been living in Bordeaux since 2005,taking care of his family’s Chateau and more recently setting up a wine consultancy service: E.Holmes Selection. Edward has a vast knowledge when it comes to the wines of Bordeaux and the areas surrounding Chateau Lagorce, and during his time at the Chateau has made some valuable and much treasured contacts in the world of wine.
Having decided to launch his School of Food and Wine, Edward decided to find the best culinary school expert chef around, (as he does not believe in doing things by halves)... hence since April 2012 he has been working closely with Celebrity Chef Valentina Harris. Valentina has years of experience in setting up and running cookery schools and cookery holiday programmes with her company Cucina Valentina. She has worked as a guest chef at various other international residential cookery schools and continues to teach at many locations throughout the UK and elsewhere.
A published author, raconteuse and experienced television and radio presenter, Valentina can often be found on London’s Southbank at many food festivals as host, producer and chef coordinator for the many and varied cookery theatres. Although Valentina’s specialisation is in her knowledge of Italian cuisine and the creation of authentic Italian dishes, she was originally trained in French cuisine and feels very much at home in this area of France. Valentina’s latest book, Fiori di Zucca, launching in early summer 2013 also contains several local recipes.
Along with other specialised celebrity chefs and wine experts, Valentina will be orchestrating all aspects of the culinary and wine courses from absolute beginners to advanced, making sure the balance of work and pleasure, demo and practical, on site and off site activities are all in perfect harmony with your holiday mood.
